Hello 2018! My New Year’s Goals

Hi loves! I cannot believe that this is my first post for 2018!! Today I wanted to share with you all my new year resolutions. I hope to achieve these all by the end of the year! Which means I’ll have to be working hard day by day to reach reach these goals! I will be talking a little bit about each goal and why it’s important to me and what I plan to do. So are you guys ready? Ok! Let’s get started!

Waking Up Early

At the end of last year I formed a bad habit when it came to waking up. I would only wake up early because I had to get ready to go to work and I didn’t want to look a mess. I gave myself only enough time to make myself a cup of coffee, grab something fast to eat and spend about 30 minutes doing my hair and makeup. The minutes that were leftover were just enough to drive to work and be there about 5 to 10 minutes before I started my workday. Not a good routine if you ask me.

I used to be able to get up hours before work where I would give my body enough time to wake up and not be rushing out the door. I miss those days, so I want to work on waking up at least 2 hours early on the weekdays. However, on the weekends I plan to sleep in, but no later than 10am latest!
I plan to do this by just getting up, even if I don’t want to. I’m sure my body will soon get used to it and it will gradually become habit. What will I do with all the extra time you may ask? Well, that’s my next goal!

I used to love to read! Actually, I still do! But lately, especially last year, I have found it challenging to find the time to read. Something that I really don’t have an excuse for. I have decided that this year I will make the time to read. I want to learn new things and just grow my mind. Since I’ll be waking up early and having some extra time, I’ll use the extra time to read! Honestly this is my favorite goal and I can’t wait to start!

Get Toned Up!

I know what you’re thinking, yes, it’s cliché but I have more reason than ever to get myself in tip top shape right now. Although I haven’t set a wedding date yet, I plan on getting married sooner than later! So, I need to stop making excuses and really get out there and work out like my life depended on me. I want to tone up my body and gain muscle in my arms and legs. I especially want to work out my core area and tighten it up and of course I can’t forget my booty. I’ll try to get my workouts in during the mornings too because that’s my favorite time to work out!

Expand My Comfort Zone

Many of you may not know this but I’m an introverted person. Don’t get me wrong, I love to get social, but only when I fell comfortable with the people and setting. But sometimes I get intimidated by trying new things and pretty much stay in my comfort zone. Especially when it comes to being around a lot of new people.

Last year I really stepped out of my comfort zone by attending blogger events and meeting new people. I’m so glad I challenged myself, because I met such amazing women who inspired me to keep working harder.

This year I challenge myself to try out new workout machines. I usually stick to the treadmill, elliptical and stair-master, however, I want to start weight-lifting and do squats with a bar on my back and all. Like what?! Just thinking about it makes me a little nervous.

I also want to step out of my zone and begin working with other brands that I really like. I know I need to work harder in order to reach out to them for a collaboration. But with small steps I hope I get there by the end of the year! Or sooner!

Save Money

I really want to work hard on saving money, which means spending less. This will take s0me will power on my behalf because I love to shop. I will have to be smart with my purchases. Honestly guys it’s not that easy but I know it can be done! I plan to create a visual of how much we have saved throughout the year and hopefully this helps us stay motivated and continue to save.

More Fur Baby Time

Last year was crazy for me because the move and settling in took so much of my time. I felt that my fur baby was getting the short end of the stick. I feel so bad for the little guy… We were too focused on other things. I realized that my poor fur baby didn’t get as much TLC as he may have needed. This year I plan to give him all the hugs and kisses I wasn’t able to give him last year.

    These are great goals! I too want to wake up earlier and read more this year. So far, I have been doing pretty well. Hopefully I can keep it up lol

    I have a lot of the same goals. So far, besides the nights that my boys have a rough night, I have been getting up early and working out before they get up in the morning. It feels great! And as soon as it warms up enough I plan to start walking again.
