Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. As you all know by now, I recently moved to Las Vegas! Lately my fiancé and I have been busy with buying furniture of all sorts and decorations for our new place. This has proven to be time consuming. Although it may be stressful at times, I do enjoy every bit of it.

Sometimes we need a break from all the settling in, so my fiancé and I opted for an adventure. This time we decided to go to the snow here in Las Vegas! People who don’t live around here sometimes have assumptions about Las Vegas, as I did once. They assume it’s hot here year round…. Well I’ve got news for you guys, it’s only hot here a few months out of the year and that usually consists of summer months.

Mount Charleston

Mount Charleston also know as Charleston Peak, is only about 40 or so minutes from Las Vegas and is still part of Clark County and is a recreational place where people camp and ski. It snows on Charleston Peak about half the year #yaaas. So if you live in Las Vegas and want to take a drive up to the snow, that is totally possible.

Charleston Peak is really beautiful! It’s a really relaxing and enchanted place to be in. My fiancé and I took along our fur baby, Bambi to play in the snow. He fell in love! I vlogged little bits here and there for my youtube channel! Check out some of the scenery yourself by clicking here : ) We didn’t bring a snow sled because we wanted to explore the peak first. Now that we know what to expect, we will definitely be taking a snow sled so that we can conquer those mountains!

Have you guys been to the snow before? What are your favorite snow activities?

Visita a Monte Charleston

¡Feliz lunes!

I live in Las Vegas and love that you featured Mount Charleston because many do not realize that there is so much life off the strip! Mount Charleston is where I bring my Frozen obsessed toddler to build her own Olaf and then I can just drive back home and barbecue! It is the best of both worlds!

    • Rosey March 14, 2017 at 1:15 am

Thank you! It really is the best of both worlds! We are surrounded by lots! Awe.. I just pictured your toddler building an Olaf, so cute! I can’t wait till I have a little one I can take to the snow, other than my fur baby! He’s cute too but can’t build a snowman 🙂

      • Brittany Ferrell March 14, 2017 at 1:30 pm

We bring our fur baby, too! It’s so great to experience the snow, but not have to shovel it!

I’ve been to Las Vegas a couple of times, but they were always for certain events and we never left the strip. I’d love to explore some of the other sites to see in Vegas… and now Mount Charleston is on the list! It looks so pretty. 🙂

Looks like a great adventure, and you are gorgeous! I love that Las Vegas has such a diverse range of landscapes… desert and mountain are totally different but both beautiful.

  • projectdinnerparty March 14, 2017 at 6:51 pm

Mt Charleston is such a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of vegas. It’s also quite a bit cooler temperature-wise.

  • Krysten March 14, 2017 at 9:53 pm

That looks like a great place to go for nature buffs. I love nature and walking and hiking! It would be fun to take my little man up there as well. I think I’m smelling a vacation coming on!

  • Iza (@IzaAbao) March 15, 2017 at 4:53 am

Bambi looks so cute with his jacket. My favorite thing to do in snow is just to walk around. The first time that I experienced snow was when I visited New York City. It was lovely.

  • Carol Cassara March 15, 2017 at 5:27 am

Wow! Mount Charleston looks amazing! It’s so nice that you brought your fur baby with you as well. It would be so nice to visit this time of the year.

Love those shots! My husband and i recently went to Vegas and spent some times skiing at Lee Canyon and checking out Mt. Charleston. We LOVED it up there! We spent our time mostly doing day trips outside the strip, so if you haven’t had the chance to yet you should definitely check out Red Rock Canyon (theres a gorgeous drive you can do or awesome hikes if you like to hike). We also went out and did some winery tours. There are two wineries about an hour from Vegas that you can do back to back. Both are great and the Pahrump Winery also has an awesome restaurant. I am planning to do a post about our trip soon, but am way behind! Hopefully I’ll have it up soon!

I currently have a travel link up going on over on my blog and this post would make a great addition if you want to join in

    Happy Wednesday!

Oh my goodness! Bambi is TOO CUTE in that little coat!! I am one of those people that didn’t know Vegas wasn’t hot year round and I certainly didn’t know there were mountains in Clark County! Neat!

  • annalisanuttall March 15, 2017 at 6:43 am

Beautiful photos I love your dog little coat. You yourself look lovely as well. xx

  • Brittany_WMSB March 15, 2017 at 7:28 am

I grew up in Vegas, so this was fun for me to see :). I was never a snow-fan but my little sister is and she loves going up there to hang out or snowboard. If there isn’t enough snow, they’ll just make it! I remember thinking that was so normal until I moved north where they get so much snow, people are confused about “making” it haha. I’m glad you got out of the city! Have you been to Red Rock? It’s also gorgeous and not that far away (especially as the city expands). You guys might like it!

  • Richard_eCoursesXYZ (@Richard_eCourse) March 15, 2017 at 1:29 pm

I never heard of the place and use to live not too far away in the desert of CA. I know it gets cold there but most people think its hot there year round. Great pics and thanks for introducing me to Mount Charleston.
